Pop up Blocker

"When I click the link to launch my course, all I see is a blue screen, and it doesn't ask me if I want to use a CD."

When your class.com course won't load, and all you see is a blue screen and no CD prompt, it usually means you have a "pop up blocker" running.

A pop up blocker is a type of software that improves browser performance and usability by suppressing the download and display of banner ads, JavaScript prompts, or popup windows. Depending on the popup blocker and its settings, it may stop legitimate windows, including class.com's CD prompt, from launching.

Many programs have flexible settings, and some even have the ability to exempt popup windows from particular sites. The first troubleshooting step is to try and exempt the course server within the popup blocker. If that's not possible, disable the application while you're working in the courses. If it becomes enough of a problem with enough sites, consider uninstalling the popup blocker and trying another version that's more flexible.
